When a Watch
Deserves Patient Hands

Welaxin is a small Bangkok workshop where mechanical watches are taken apart quietly, cleaned properly, and returned to you in good running order. Nothing hurried; nothing overlooked.

What We Do

Three Ways We Can Help

Movement cleaning and service

Movement Service & Cleaning

A careful full service for mechanical and automatic watches. The movement is disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, fresh lubricants applied, then reassembled and timed. We also inspect the crown, gaskets, and crystal seating, returning the watch with a short written note on its condition.

  • Ultrasonic movement cleaning
  • Full lubrication of train & balance
  • Regulator timing check
  • Written condition note included

Vintage movement overhaul

Vintage Movement Overhaul

A deeper restoration for older calibres where wear, dried oils, or a tired mainspring affect timekeeping. We source period-appropriate parts, dress worn pivots, replace the mainspring, and regulate across positions. Intended for collectors caring for a treasured heirloom — the original character is kept intact.

  • Period-appropriate parts sourcing
  • Pivot dressing & mainspring replacement
  • Multi-position regulation
  • Step-by-step documentation

Case and dial restoration

Complete Case & Dial Restoration

A comprehensive restoration covering both the movement and the watch's appearance. Alongside a full overhaul, we gently refinish the case, re-lume hands and markers, and arrange dial restoration with a trusted specialist to preserve the piece's identity. Progress photographs are shared at each milestone.

  • Full movement overhaul included
  • Gentle case refinishing
  • Hand & marker re-luming
  • Milestone photo updates

Why Welaxin

The Workshop Difference

Focused Craft

We work only on mechanical and automatic movements — no batteries, no quartz, no shortcuts. Every watch passes through the same careful hands.

Written Service Records

Every piece leaves with a handwritten note describing its condition, the work performed, and any observations worth keeping for future reference.

Transparent Pricing

The price shown is the price you pay. We discuss any additional costs with you before proceeding — nothing appears on your bill without your agreement.

Photo Progress Updates

For restoration and overhaul work, we share photographs at each stage so you can follow your watch's journey through the workshop.

Heritage Parts Sourcing

For vintage calibres, we source period-appropriate components from our network rather than substituting modern parts that alter the character of the piece.

Charoen Krung Heritage District

We are located on Bangkok's oldest trading street, a neighbourhood with a long association with fine craftsmanship and a quiet respect for things well made.

Ready When You Are

Common Questions

Things People Often Ask

How long does a standard service take? +
A movement service and cleaning typically takes two to three weeks from the date we receive the watch. Vintage overhauls take three to five weeks, and complete case and dial restorations can take five to eight weeks. These windows allow us to work carefully rather than quickly; we will give you a more precise estimate once we have examined the piece.
Do you provide a quote before starting work? +
Yes, always. After we have examined the watch, we will confirm the applicable service price and describe any additional work we consider necessary. Nothing proceeds without your approval. The prices listed on this site reflect typical service costs; unusual complications or significant wear may affect the final figure, and we will discuss any variation with you before touching the movement.
What types of watches do you work on? +
We work exclusively on mechanical and automatic movements. This includes pocket watches, dress watches, sport watches, and vintage pieces from most of the well-known Swiss and Japanese manufacturers. We do not service quartz or battery-operated watches.
How should I bring the watch to the workshop? +
You are welcome to drop by the workshop during opening hours — we are at 148 Charoen Krung Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok. If you prefer to send the watch, please contact us first so we can advise on safe packaging and our postal intake process. We accept watches in person Monday through Saturday.
Will restoration change the watch's originality? +
Preserving originality is something we take seriously, particularly for vintage pieces. Where a dial shows honest age, we do not re-print it unless it is structurally compromised. Case refinishing is discussed with you in advance, and we will advise whether polishing is appropriate or likely to reduce the watch's collector value. We share photographs at each stage for complete peace of mind.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept cash in Thai Baht, bank transfer, and major credit cards. A deposit of 30% may be requested for restoration work; this will be mentioned at the time of quoting.
